I.D.E.A. Summit – May 7 at Langley Events Centre

Come see entrepreneurship and creativity in action at the I.D.E.A. Summit!

I.D.E.A. stands for Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship and Altruism.

Students from across the District will be participating and competing throughout the day in the Market Showcases, Thinkology and Design Challenges, Pitch Challenges, and the I.D.E.A Summit Finale. The finishers will be awarded prizes which have been generously donated by the local business community.

We wish the Bulldogs grade 4 students who are representing our school at the IDEA summit the very best of days!

Join us at the Langley Events Centre (Building B-Fieldhouse) located at 7888 200th Street in Langley on May 7, 2024 from 9:15 am – 3:00pm. For more information and to view the schedule, click here.

A summer opportunity in the neighbourhood…

It’s Concert Week!

We want to send a shout-out to the SD35 electricians who hustled to make sure we had the lighting set up and ready to go for this week’s concert. Only a few days ago it was all in the rafters at Lynn Fripps Elementary, and now it’s here. We also want to thank Lynn Fripps Elementary for loaning us their lights. We’ll be buying our own, and this was a perfect opportunity to test-drive the system.

Another thanks goes to the North Langley Community Church who loan us their staging, sound equipment and seating for the concert.

When you attend a concert, please note that student groups use the hallways and changerooms for stage access, and the gym will be filled with seating, so we ask that strollers be left outside (or even better, at home).

Spring Fling Classroom Baskets

For this year’s Spring Fling we will be having a silent auction to help with our fundraising efforts.

In addition to our community donations, we are asking our classrooms to help us build gift baskets of varying themes.

Classrooms have been paired up, and themes have been assigned! Watch your emails to see what theme your class has, and look for the Google Sheet sign up!

We appreciate your support!

If you have any questions please email the Spring Fling Committee at rbepacspringfling@gmail.com

Quote(s) of the week

Something to read (or watch)…

  • Did you know that if your child has a phone, there are a number of ways you can help them make responsible choices around usage, purchases, and more? You can set up parental controls through Apple’s Parental Controls at setup time, and through Family Sharing connected to AppleIDs (thanks to the Bulldogs mom who showed me the latter the other day). You can do the same in Android world, too, of course, though I haven’t used that one directly. And in our house, the network settings provide another layer of reminder that one need not be up all night on a device.
