New Option to Access MyEDBC using your BC Services Card

On Monday, October 17, the Ministry of Education and Child Care together with Service BC is providing another option for students and parents/guardians to access MyEDBC. This new option enables students and families to link their BC Services Card Mobile Phone App to their MyEDBC account. By choosing this new method, all you would need is your BC Services Card Mobile Phone App to log into MyEDBC at any time. If a student or parent/guardian chooses this method, they will be able to go back to the old login method but will require assistance from District MyEDBC support staff. Moving forward with choosing this new option means that you will never need a username and password.

The old method of using a username and password to login to My EDBC will remain the same. There may be some students and families who do not want to use the new login method for reasons which may include:

    • You are satisfied with the current process of using a username and password
    • You don’t have a BC Services Card
    • You don’t have access or don’t want to use a mobile phone or the BC Services Card App to log into My EDBC

Below are resources and instructions from the Ministry to help you get started.

As this is a new change, please understand District and school staff are still learning about this additional option and instructions to help support families.

Taming the Worry Dragons

Join Langley Community Services Society for Taming the Worry Dragons after school program. This eight-session course is for children aged 8-12 who struggle with anxiety and their parents/guardians. See image for registration and contact information.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

It’s already time to be thinking about Parent-Teacher Interviews. Our interviews this year will be on October 19 and 20, and so students will be dismissed at 1:33 on both of those days.

Appointment booking for interviews is done through Schoolappointments.com, so you will need to make an account and connect to your children to book. Please note that family accounts on this system are reset each year, so you will have to make a fresh account. Booking will open today, and closes on October 18 at 11pm.

The Scholastic Book Fair is here…

We will have a Scholastic Book Fair from October 17-20. That’s soon! It also relies on parent volunteers to happen. If you are able, please sign up for a time slot to help us make the book fair a success. You can sign up for a time here.

Cross Country

Good luck to Ava and SJ, our runners who have qualified to race in Tuesday’s Cross Country Championship. They’ll be racing on a new course, against the quickest runners from around Langley, and they’re going to make us proud! All our runners made us proud, in fact, as they signed up for something most of them had never tried before, and kept running with big smiles and tired legs.

Early Learning Opportunities

We have many opportunities for families to take part in Early Years Programming in our district. All of our programs are FREE, DROP-IN, and open to all caregivers. Families are welcome to attend any of the sessions available, regardless of their catchment school.

  • Maybe I already sent this one, but I’m sending it again! Adding left to right is sometimes (often? Always?) easier. In fact, parents, it’s probably what you already do.
