Information
YogaPl3y
Thanks to the generosity of the PAC, our students are embarking on a 2-week YogaPl3y residency in PE, starting Monday. We are looking forward to trying something new (for most of us), getting stronger and more flexible, and more fluent in our fundamental movement skills. The regular PE schedule is changed for this, so make sure you keep track of when your class is in the gym and wear comfortable clothing you can move in.
Thank you to the PAC, and to all the families who have supported our PAC fundraising, for making this happen for us.
Basketball Court & Parking Lot Closure
The basketball courts and staff parking lot will be closed (and will need to be empty) on Tuesday afternoon this week, from 3:00-4:30 as we move some heavy equipment through that area as part of our ongoing construction work. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
Construction Zone
We will be adjusting permitted stopping/parking areas due to the ongoing construction project. This means there will be less space. Do not drive into the driveways unless you really must. Instead, park a block away and walk in. The weather is lovely and the exercise is healthy.
Please let us know if you are moving away
Parents are asked to inform the school as soon as possible if/when they know that their children will be leaving our school or not returning in the fall. Please complete our withdraw form and email it to cdavies@sd35.bc.ca
Spirit Day – Anything but a backpack day
This Friday is Anything But a Backpack Day. This is a day when students are encouraged to leave their backpacks at home and bring their school supplies in a different type of container, such as a reusable grocery bag, a tote bag, or a small suitcase. Be creative (but safe) with your pack this day.
Earth Day Event – City of Langley
Learn, explore, and have fun doing environmentally friendly activities! The City of Langley is celebrating Earth Day with a free family event on Saturday, April 20th at Douglas Park from 10am – 2pm. You can take part in the Upcycle Challenge, which is a great way to create purposeful items made from recycled materials. Try out some hands-on workshops, scavenger hunts, Earth Day bingo, and more. View poster here. For more info, visit the website here.

Save the Date – Spring Concert
Our Spring concert will be on May 8 and 9, 2024. There will be matinee shows both days, and an evening show on May 9. Please watch for ticketing information coming out separately this week.

Umami Sushi & BP Fun Lunch is this Friday, April 19th

Don’t forget to pack a snack and water bottle for Fun Lunch day.
If your child is absent on Fun Lunch Day, please email hotlunchbulpitt@outlook.com and we will prepare it for pick up. If you cannot pick it up, please consider it as a donation as there are no refunds. Fun Lunch must be picked up between 12:00-12:30pm on Friday at the PAC kitchen.

Quote(s) of the week

Something to read (or watch)…
- Who was Kim Peek (see quote above)? Here’s who!
- I came across this article in the Y2Y (Yellowstone to Yukon) website about wildlife overpasses and whether the animals actually use them (they do). It’s pretty interesting. There’s a really cool Instragram account connected that shows trail camera highlights of one of the overpasses near Banff National Park. The Canadian National Parks Service has a page listing a number of very interesting wildlife camera feeds.
