Information

Early Start or Late Return for Winter Break?

If your student is going to be starting winter break sooner than the last day of school (Dec 20, 2024)  or returning after school re-opens (Jan 6, 2025), it is very important to let the office and your student’s teachers know. If a child is marked absent, but the office has not received an email or a telephone call from the parent advising of the absence/tardiness, a phone call home, email and text message,  will be made to ensure the child is safe.

Please email RBEAttendanceVoicemail@sd35.bc.ca with the name(s) of your student(s) and what dates they will be away from school. You can send in one email per family, you do not need to send a separate email for each of your children.

We need the following information (IMPORTANT – please include your students last name)

    • Students First and Last Name
    • Grade
    • Division
    • Length of absence
    • Reason (illness, late, appointment, vacation)

If your student is going to be away for 25 consecutive days OR more please complete the missing time form please and return it to the office

Lost and Found

Please check the lost and found, there are lots and lots, and lots of items.  Any items not claimed by Dec 20 will be donated.

Food Bank Appeal

Our school has a long-standing tradition of collecting for the Food Bank.

We will not be accepting items for the food bank, but instead will be collecting donations through school cash online, (from Nov 18 – Jan 3) as this offers the food bank the most flexibility. While this article is from Ontario, the same principles obviously apply here in Langley.

If you would like a tax receipt, please donate directly through a food banks donation site.

Holiday Movie Night – Preorder Closes Monday, December 2nd

We Need Volunteers!

Unfortunately, we are now at risk of cancelling our Movie Night on Friday, December 6th due to a lack of volunteers.

If you could please sign up for a shift it would be very appreciated so we don’t have to cancel the movie night. Volunteers get free admission for themselves, they only have to pay for their children if they are attending.

If you already paid for tickets, but sign up for a volunteer position we can credit your account so please send us an email to bulpittpac@outlook.com if that is the case.

Please check out our sign up genius page here if you can spare some time:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090A44AAAD2AAAFE3-53545553-movie

Come join us in the RBE gym to watch Elf on Friday, December 6th!

The show will start at 6:30 PM, and doors will open at 5:45 PM.

Tickets are $3 per movie, and required for everyone (including babies). Please only buy tickets for your family, as we are limited to selling 300 tickets due to capacity limitations.

We recommend you purchase your tickets and concession in advance due to limited availability, until Monday December 2nd on Munch-a Lunch: https://munchalunch.com/schools/richardBulpitt/

Pre-ordered pizza combos are a dollar cheaper than buying the night of ($5 vs $6).

Giving Trees for our 3 Sponsored Families from the Langley Christmas Bureau

Our Giving Tree initiative is now underway and will run until Friday, December 6th.

We are sponsoring 3 families from the Langley Christmas Bureau this year and the trees are now set up in the school foyer.

Parents/guardians are invited to take a tag from one of the trees that’s within their budget and bring back the item with the tag attached to the boxes under the corresponding tree.

Families are being asked to stick to the item(s) that is/are listed on the tags as it is going directly to the 3 families that the PAC is sponsoring this year, i.e. if you have capacity to support, please grab more tags rather than extra of what is listed on the tag.

If you purchased gift cards please bring them to Ms. Davies in the office.

Flip Give Fundraiser

This year, fundraising for RBE PAC is going to be so much easier with FlipGive, a free team funding app.
We can earn cash back on every purchase we make all year long! All you have to do is shop anytime with the brands you already love, like Home Depot, Walmart, Sport Chek, Indigo, Old Navy, Apple, Esso, and Loblaws. No more going door-to-door selling chocolate bars – it’s completely virtual and contactless.
Join our team now and you’ll get a $5 bonus the first time you shop: https://flipgive.app.link/teams/join?joincode=WYW49S

Something to read

  • The Christmas displays are starting to take shape all around the lower mainland. We are lucky to have some very impressive lights right across 77A Ave from the school (put together by some of our own families), and there are lots of great spots to see. Here’s a list of some of the really big ones. Some have admission charges, some include food, some are viewed from the car, and some are a lovely winter walk.
  • So far, it’s been a mild start to the winter months, so we can get out for a nice walk just about anywhere. But if and when the snow comes (the predicted La Niña year means it should happen), it’s nice to know a few places to go for a nice walk in nature that generally stay snow-free. Of course, making this got Mr. Oliver thinking about La Niña and El Niño and what those things mean.
