Information
Eid
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan for Muslims around the world. Depending on the sighting of the crescent moon at different places on the planet, it will fall between tonight, May 1 and as late as May 6. To our Muslim Bulldogs, have a blessed Eid.
Spring Book Fair
We’re having another Scholastic Book Fair this year. The Spring Book Fair runs all week, and Ms. Smith needs parent volunteers. Sign up here if you’re able.
WHEN: Monday, May 2nd– Friday, May 6th (Before School- 8:15- 8:40am and After School 2:33- 3:30pm)
WHERE: Richard Bulpitt Library and online for parents and caregivers
All proceeds from the Scholastic Book Fair go toward improving our library collection!
We will be running a hybrid Book Fair with a combination of online and in person shopping. The Book Fair will be open to classes for shopping during their regular scheduled library time. It will be closed at recess and lunch.
Parents can attend before and after school, however, we would like to be cautious and encourage parents to shop online using our virtual Book Fair to avoid large numbers in our library. We also encourage students not to attend the Book Fair before and after school without a parent/guardian. All students will have the opportunity to shop with their classes.
We are also offering a Virtual Book Fair running the same week so that families are able to shop together online from home. Use the link below or scan the QR code to access the online fair. Online orders must be placed before midnight on May 6th. They will be shipped to our school free of charge and delivered to students in their classes the week following the Book Fair. Please ensure you have your child’s name on your order so that I know which class and student to deliver to.
Before our Book Fair Begins, visit the link to save it to your browser: https://virtualbookfairs.scholastic.ca/pages/5179672 *Online shopping opens May 2nd!*
Young Entrepreneurs
Thank you to all parents who supported our Young Entrepreneurs fair, either by helping a vendor, or helping a customer. Our grade 4s were extremely excited by and proud of their work, and we are as well.
Summer Session 2022
It’s that time of year when the staff in Langley start planning the Summer Session offerings so many kids enjoy and benefit from. It’s sure not the ‘you failed’ Summer School from when I was a kid! In place of a brochure this year, all Summer Session information will be communicated here. Registration is now open.

Alternative Fundraiser
Due to the unprecedented nature of COVID-19 we have been limited in the ability to hold regular events to fundraise for our staff and students. This year the PAC would like to offer parents a new way to donate directly to the PAC, for those who do not wish to purchase goods or have limited time to participate in events.
A direct donation of $40 would be the equivalent to your child raising $275 through fundraising activities (Purdy’s, Neufelds, etc.). Funds raised go towards supporting teachers in their classrooms, busses for field trips, programs such as Dance Pl3y, Saleema Noon and more!
If you wish to make a direct donation, please send an e-transfer to bulpittpac@outlook.com with direct donation in the Message line. Please note, at this time we are unable to provide tax receipts.
Thank you to those who have contributed!
Next General Meeting
Don’t forget – our next meeting will be Monday, May 9 at 7pm via Zoom. – all parents are welcome to attend! Our AGM and PAC Elections will be held on Monday, June 6 at 7pm in the Library. If you are interested in becoming a member of our PAC, please email to bulpittpac@outlook.com.
Quote(s) of the week

Something to read (or watch)
- Do you want to help your child with math? Remember, there’s no such person as a ‘not a math person,’ only a ‘never realized I was a math person.’ This Maths at Home Shed is part of a much bigger British (I think, based on the language) site that has a wide range of math resources from around the English-speaking world, including lots from Canada.

- I have lost track of how many times a student asks me about my favourite animal, and I probably don’t always answer the same way, but these are certainly high on my list. I just hope that what this article suggests doesn’t turn out to be true. BC’s Southern Resident Orcas Have Been Wandering Far From Home.
- Star Wars Day is Wednesday, and in honour of that, here are some Weird But True Star Wars Facts.
- If you’re looking for something to do this month, Vancouver’s Best Places has a pretty comprehensive list (though it’s a bit repetitive).
