News and Information

Cinco de Mayo Dance

Thanks to all the parents, grandparents and RBE Alumni who put on a fantastic dance on Friday night. Kids had a blast, and we hope the parents who came did too. And the clean-up was done fantastically fast! Excellent!

Spring Concert

We hope you are as excited as we are for the Spring Concerts this week. For the Evening Show on May 11, please have your kids at their classroom or pick-up spot for 6:15. If you are not attending that show, you’ll have a while to relax and go for a walk or something. Classroom teachers will be with the kids before and after their performances in the gym. We estimate that they will be done at about 7:15, though we won’t know for sure until we do our dress rehearsal this week.

Book Fair

Jump Rope for Heart

Our Jump Rope for Heart Event is May 30 this year. Watch this space next week for information on our fundraising campaign for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Quote(s) of the week

Something to Read or Watch…

May be an illustration of text that says "A CHILD A BOOK A READ A CHAT THIS (STHE WAY THE MINP GROWS NOT WITH A TEST BUT A TALE MICHAEL ROSEN"
  • I believe that I have now seen everything. A lego-themed burger pop-up restaurant is coming to Vancouver at the end of September, but only for three days, apparently.
  • Remember Wordle? (Mr. Oliver still plays it every morning to get his brain moving). Here’s the newest NYT game (in beta, so not perfect, but…) called Digits. Practise your math. This one is best for older kids and their parents, as the arithmetic gets pretty tough.

  • When Gordon Lightfoot learned that researchers had discovered that the Edmund Fitzgerald sank because it broke under heavy waves, and not because of a hatch failing (due to crew error) as the original lyrics suggested, he changed the lyrics for his live performances going forward.
