Student Safety Around Schools
With the days growing shorter and the heavy rain, fog, and frost, we are sharing a reminder to all our students to take extra precaution when walking to and from school. Please be aware of your surroundings, walk with someone whenever possible, and avoid wearing headphones. We also ask drivers in our school community to be vigilant on our roads. We encourage families to speak with their children about what they can do to stay healthy and safe. Student safety is our priority. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
As the winter season deepens, please also pay attention to the surface your are walking on. We put deicer down when icy conditions are anticipated, but it is wise to make a habit of walking as if you could step onto an icy patch at any moment. There are many days when it seems to get slipperier between 8:00 and 8:30, so please walk with care.

Fuel and Travel Restrictions Update – Effective Monday, December 6, 2021
The District is sharing an update with the community regarding the announcement made on November 22, 2021 outlining measures to support the province’s fuel and travel restrictions. The Ministry of Education has provided new guidance to school districts regarding sports and extracurricular activities. Schools are now permitted to participate in these types of events such as field trips, sports tournaments, and related learning opportunities that require transportation. To help our school staff and volunteers plan for the transition, this change will be in effect Monday, December 6, 2021 and will continue to winter break or until further notice.
The District recognizes these activities are valuable to student development, learning, and community building. The District will continue with other measures to support the province’s effort in conserving fuel and reducing travel. In alignment with the province, the District is encouraging our students, staff, and families to walk, ride a bike, carpool, use transit or alternate modes of transportation. We appreciate your support during these challenging times.
BCCDC Vaccination for Children Aged 5-11
The COVID-19 vaccination is now authorized by Health Canada for children five and older. Getting young people vaccinated helps protect them and the people around them. The Langley Schools District is supporting the efforts of public health and is sharing this resource from the BC Centre for Disease Control COVID-19 Vaccination for children 5-11 years old here. You can also review an Immunize BC FAQ resource here.
Parents can register their child in the Get Vaccinated System to be notified of when their child can get vaccinated. The vaccines are free and children do not need BC Care Cards to receive them. If you have any questions about your child’s health, please contact public health or your medical provider.
Lost and Found
Have you lost something at school? A hoodie? Jacket? One shoe? The lost and found at the school is under the stairs by the courtyard and is brimming with clothing and items that students have left. Please check it before Dec 17, as we will be washing and donating anything left after this date. Parents can check the lost and found at the courtyard entrance.
Winter Break Attendance
If your student is going to be starting the winter break sooner than the last day of school (Dec 17) or if they will be having an extended winter break not returning on Jan 4, 2022, it is very important to let the office and your student’s teachers know.
Please email rbeattendance@sd35.bc.ca with the name(s) of your student(s) and what dates they will be away from school. Please make sure you take all your student’s cloakroom items and materials .
STUDENT MISSING EXTENDED SCHOOL TIME – Student Missing School Time Form

PAC News
Alternative Fundraiser
Due to the unprecedented nature of COVID-19 we have been limited in the ability to hold regular events to fundraise for our staff and students. This year the PAC would like to offer parents a new way to donate directly to the PAC, for those who do not wish to purchase goods or have limited time to participate in events.
A direct donation of $40 would be the equivalent to your child raising $275 through fundraising activities (Purdy’s, Neufelds, etc.). Funds raised go towards supporting teachers in their classrooms, busses for field trips, programs such as Dance Pl3y, Saleema Noon and more!
If you wish to make a direct donation, please send an e-transfer to bulpittpac@outlook.com with direct donation in the Message line. Please note, at this time we are unable to provide tax receipts.
